Reykjavik, Iceland: Reykjavik offers all you ever wanted to get your groove on. Two to check out are Astro–its glowing lights behind the bar are reminiscent of the country’s famous northern lights–and Club NASA, (nasa.is) which draws some of Europe’s top DJs (icetourist.is).
Orkney Islands, Scotland: Fusion (fusionclub.co.uk) in Kirkwall made the shortlist for Scottish Club of the Year. It, too, draws some of the greatest DJs around.
Tallinn, Estonia: The Estonian capital, on the Gulf of Finland, has been called “a pocket-size Prague” because of its picturesque turrets and charming squares. Hollywood (www.club-hollywood.ee) specializes in techno and is located in the historic Old Town. Moskva (moskva.ee) is a restaurant, bar and members club for Tallinn’s tragically hip.
Tromso, Norway: Most bars and clubs are open till the early hours. Stroka Bar offers options for all ages. Each month a new DJ comes to spin pop and dance fusion. The brown bar upstairs is the place to chill out, sip cognac and stare at the sun.
